Joe Biden's Cabinet & Administration Picks - FULL UPDATED LIST!

Updated: Jan 7

Sadly, I'm too tired from the long election slog to do another full episode about the rest of Biden's likely nominees, so instead, I'm gonna share my full research as an article!

Hey I’m Leo Ashe, and it’s time for some political dirty talk! Are you tired of the corrupt and incompetent jokes that have been running this country? Well today, let’s look at Joe Biden’s team of diverse and competent rivals who will likely make up his future administration.

Now regarding my criteria, this is NOT a wish-list! To keep this as short as possible, I focused only on candidates who are qualified and most likely to be on Biden's short-list.

**This list will be updated with Biden's actual picks as soon as they're announced. [Last Update 1/7/21]

1) Treasury Secretary

  • *Janet Yellen - Economist at the Brookings Institution who served as the Chair of the Federal Reserve from 2014 to 2018, and as Vice Chair from 2010 to 2014.

  • Elizabeth Warren - She’s a former Harvard law professor and expert on financial regulation. She scares the hell out of Wall Street, but I doubt she’ll get the offer, and personally, I'd rather she stay in the Senate.

  • Sarah Bloom Raskin - Under Obama, she was the Deputy Treasury Secretary, and she was a member of the Federal Reserve’s Board of Governors.

  • Lael Brainard - She has a Ph.D from Harvard, she was the undersecretary of the treasury for international affairs for Obama, she was the Deputy National Economic Adviser to Bill Clinton, and she’s currently a member of the Federal Reserve’s Board of Governors.

  • Austan Goolsbee - a current Biden advisor who has a Ph.D from MIT, was the Chair of the Council of Economic Advisers for Obama, and is currently a professor of economics at the University of Chicago.

  • Susan Rice - She was the Former National Security Advisor and UN Ambassador for Obama, and she was the Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs under Bill Clinton. She was expected to replace Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State in 2013, but withdrew herself from consideration due to Benghazi. Additionally, she was under consideration to be Biden’s Vice President.

  • Samantha Power - She famously resigned from Obama’s 2008 campaign after calling Hillary Clinton “a monster”. But she was later hired by the Obama administration as a senior advisor and UN Ambassador. She apparently got along well with Biden, and fun fact, she's currently married to famed Harvard political science professor, Cass Sunstein, who wrote one of my favorite books entitled “Nudge”.

  • William Burns - President of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and former Deputy Secretary of State under Obama.

3) Attorney General

  • *Merrick Garland - former U.S. appellate Judge who was Obama's nominee to the Supreme Court but was infamously snubbed by Mitch McConnell.

  • Pete Buttigieg - the Former presidential primary candidate and mayor of South Bend, Indiana. In addition to Biden owing Pete a huge debt for dropping out and endorsing him right before the South Carolina primary, Pete is also a veteran of the Afghanistan War, and a fantastic multi-lingual public speaker who is undoubtedly a young and rising star in the Democratic Party.

  • Anne-Marie Slaughter - She was the first woman to serve as the Director of Policy Planning for the State Department under Obama.

  • Wendy Sherman - Current Director of the Harvard Kennedy School’s Center for Public Leadership, senior counselor at Albright Stonebridge Group, and former Under Secretary of State.

  • Michelle Howard - she’s a Retired four-star admiral who last served as the commander of Naval Forces Europe, while she concurrently served as the commander of Naval Forces Africa, and commander of Allied Joint Force Command Naples. He’s been a senior advisor to Biden’s 2020 campaign, and he assisted Biden with debate strategy. So by the way, Ron, if you’re reading, you should REALLY check out my video on how to debate Trump!

  • Steve Ricchetti - the Former Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations under Bill Clinton, AND Chief of Staff for Joe Biden. He was the chief planner for Biden’s potential 2016 presidential campaign, he’s been a co-chair for Biden’s 2020 campaign, AND he's spent years as a lobbyist, so he’s apparently led Biden's effort to raise funds from Wall Street.
